Unwrapped - our history

Our story begins in 1988 when our grandparents moved from Hong Kong to Richmond bringing their family recipe for dumplings and noodles. Over 30 years later, our family continues that legacy of finding quality ingredients and hand-wrapping them inside a silky skin - every dumpling, one by one.

why “Typical”?

We hear this a lot. The word “typical” isn’t normally used to describe a business. Brushing aside the fact that English wasn’t our grandparents’ first language, their vision to bring their recipe for dumplings and noodles, ones you would “typically” find in the streets of Hong Kong, for all to experience here in Canada. While the name still gets funny looks today, it’s a part of our origin story!
